Hallelujah! As Morgan and I have reflected on our first 3 years of marriage we have realized and are SO thankful for how easy God has made it on us. What I mean is, He made promises about different things and made good on them straight away; we asked Him for guidance on things (big and small) and He answered right then and there; we asked for confirmation and He gave it…we never really had to do much waiting. Boy has that changed! Since our return from outreach back in September we have had to do MUCH waiting. It has been a tough couple of months with tears, frustration, and even confusion (we’ve had a couple of baby scares…we are about to pack everything up and move to a new room for the 3rd time since we’ve been back…we don’t have a car, which makes doc appointments, etc. quite difficult…really missing home…). To be honest, it has been a bit harder than usual to “forget what is behind and strain toward what is ahead…to press on toward the goal to win the prize for which God has called us heavenward in Christ Jesus.” Thankfully, our God is ALWAYS good and ALWAYS faithful and we are holding on to those truths. He has spoken to us and made promises about our baby, housing, finances, a car and we KNOW that they will be fulfilled. Regardless, He is taking this time to refine and strengthen us…to help us better understand what Paul meant when he said, “I consider everything a loss compared to the surpassing greatness of knowing Christ Jesus my Lord, for whose sake I have lost all things. I consider them rubbish, that I may gain Christ and be found in him…” Philippians 3:8-9 Tough, but good. As we wait for the arrival of our baby boy we feel that he is symbolic of all else that is “gestating.” Like him, we don’t want any of the other gifts to come early, but rather in God’s perfect timing. So, we WILL keep our eyes on the prize and trust in our faithful Dad.
Thank you for your prayers and encouraging words as we go through this time. You are truly, truly appreciated. Please let us know how we can pray for you as well. I absolutely love receiving messages from home most especially lately since my heart has been longing to be there.
Here are some prayer points:
1) for the health of our little man as he continues to be knit together
2) for grace in our housing situation
3) that the perfect car will come in at the perfect time
4) for wisdom and grace as we (mostly Morgan) continue to teach and disciple the little ones here on campus
5) for a willingness, joy, and peace in our hearts as we continue here
Love and blessings,
Morgan, Lisa, and Baby Boy Keach
