New Zealand Update

Greetings from New Zealand!
2 Corinthians 4:7- 9 But we have this treasure in jars of clay, to show that the surpassing power belongs to God and not us. We are afflicted in every way, but not crushed;  perplexed but not driven to despair, persecuted but not forsaken, struck down but not destroyed.
Here is a quick recap of where we are at, how we got here, and what is going on.

Samuel waiting to get picked up from school
In December we got accepted to do a Youth With A Mission training school entitled Family Ministry School (FMS) in New Zealand. The problem was that we needed roughly 13 to 14 thousand dollars to do it. So we let out a few lines, did some praying, and released it to God. As the arrival day of the school (January 18th)  approached it was seeming that we weren’t going. In fact, on Sunday the 12th we had told friends and family that we would be staying home for a little longer. Monday the 13th threw us for a loop when some friends said they were giving us 10 grand! Later that week through the generosity of many of our friends we received the remainder of our needed funds! 14 grand in a week! God is amazing. Thus began a mad scramble that had us buying plane tickets and leaving early Saturday morning, the 18th.
Off to school!
The day before we left I met with my friend and pastor, Jeremy Anthony. Before we parted he said something to the effect of “Well when God comes through like this it leaves no doubt He wants you there. That way when things go wrong you know you should be there! And like Peter we can say, ‘Where else can we go, you have the words of life.’”
I thought, “ When things go wrong? What is this guy talking about?”
Not shortly after we arrived Lisa began to feel something wrong in her body. Lisa was 8 weeks pregnant, but when we got to the doctor we discovered that she had in fact lost the baby. Two babies in heaven in one year. No words to describe it.
What are we going to do? Jesus has the words of life. Where else are we going to go? So things are a bit hard for us, but we can honestly testify to the grace of God. We have felt His peace and His comfort like I wouldn’t imagine it possible. Thanks for praying for us. Like the verse posted above, we are perplexed but not driven to despair. He will get us through this! He will yet turn our mouths to laughter and our tongues to joyful shouting. If you haven’t given your life to Jesus, you should greatly consider it. When the trials of life come, Jesus is there to guide you and comfort you through them, you can trust Him.
A lecture on ministering to teens
The school has been great. The teaching has been wonderful. We are learning a lot. The work has been busy, yet rewarding. Samuel has lots of friends his age, and is loving the daycare. New Zealand is beautiful and green! Lots to say here, but we will leave it for another week.
What can I say? We are afflicted in every way but not crushed. May God be glorified through these jars of clay.
Please pray:
1) For our marriage to be strong
2) That we would get from this course all that God sent us here for.
3) That God would give us vision for ministering to families (ours and others).
4) For Lisa to heal and recover
5) For God’s continued grace
Thank you all so much for your love, prayers and support,

Morgan, Lisa, and Samuel
