October/November Update

Greetings Friends and Family,

Thank you so much for taking the time to read our update, and to pray with us.
Bible School: Our current inductive bible school is the biggest we've had to date! There are 15 students from 7 different nations. There are two newlywed couples. Also, Eight of the students are long term missionaries seeking extra training before they head out or return to the mission field! Some are headed to Cambodia, Thailand, and Nicaragua.
Pray that God meets these students as they study His word. That they would proclaim the truth of the bible boldly wherever they are called.

Lisa and one of her friends have started a reading group for toddlers in the local housing project. There are a ton of children from Hawaii,  Micronesia, Samoa, Thailand, Philippines, etc. This could be a great opportunity to meet some of the local moms, and minister to mom and kids alike. Pray that God draws the kids and moms who are supposed to be there, and that He leads them in this endeavor.

November 1st marked our seventh wedding anniversary! Where does the time go? Lisa is amazing and I am so stoked to be married to her. She is the best thing that has ever happened to me. The feeling is mutual for Lisa I'm sure of it : ). Pray that God blesses our marriage, and that he would bring us even closer together in our 7th year of marriage.

Please be praying for the work and preparations for the Pacific Link. The vessel is in Papua New Guinea (PNG) in dry dock in getting ready for outreach to some outer islands around PNG. Please pray that preparations go well and that God provided our needed crew. For more updates on YWAM Ships  go to http://ywamships.net/blog/

Jack the Pirate!
Recently Lisa and I have been seeking the Lord about direction for us as a family in missions. We were considering coming back to California to re-connect with family and church for a season. Last week God confirmed to us to continue in missions from Kona, Hawaii. For now, our plan is to continue to provide bible training through YWAM Ships in Kona, raise up a prayer minisrty at the YWAM ships base, and reach out to the local community. Pray that God would fill us with a fresh sense of his glory and love. We want to be a people who minister out of a place of God's overflowing goodness. And please pray also that we would continue to trust God for our daily needs.

Thanks and God bless,

Sammy the smiling pirate!
